Project Hiraeth

During the first half of the 19th century, Wales was gradually being absorbed into England and so the Welsh language began to die out.

This inspired an adventurous group of 153 Welshmen and women to set sail for a new life in Argentinian Patagonia to save and hold onto what they believed in, their dying language and culture.

There are over 50,000 Welsh descendants living in Patagonia today. 12,000 still speak Welsh as their first language.

My friend Steph is diving deeper into this story by travelling to Patagonia and documenting her journey through an online diary and physical exhibition at the newly restored Cardigan castle, West Wales.

You may have also seen me blog about Vice Magazine who have also produced small documentaries about the un-known fashion weeks worldwide, along with the cultural and political issues that surround the local people in those areas.

Harp String DJ Booth

London design studio NEON created an interactive DJ booth instillation for DJ Alessio as part of the House Of Peroni experience. The aim was to build a collaborative architecture where the guests of the event could interact with the florescent strings to create additional noises to be mixed in the DJ set.

Drum Pants

A few months back I blogged about shoes that played alternative sounds when the wearer is walking. Today I discovered a new Kick Starter project created by Tyler Freeman called DrumPants; a wearable sensor kit that allows the user to play music by tapping or drumming on their body. The simplicity of the equipment will work perfectly for performances in the future, with users being able to adjust their own sounds via a computer.
